Fireworks are legendary in the United Arab Emirates and this year’s festivities promise to be another spectacular and record-breaking show.

For those in Dubai, here are the locations to watch New Year’s Eve fireworks in Dubai for 2022-2023.

Burj Khalifa

Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa is the best place to watch the fireworks on New Year’s Eve. On December 31, visitors can look forward to experience a cutting-edge laser light and fireworks show to illuminate the famed facade, with the Dubai Fountain at the building’s base earmarked to dance in sync with the show.

The light show will set a new world record for the largest laser display, while the light beams will travel the longest distance yet recorded.

Burj Khalifa NYE fireworks

Visitors can watch fireworks from the walkways around Dubai Water Canal or take advantage of the Burj Park, located on Burj Lake. Or you can head to Souk Al Bahar and The Dubai Mall to watch the Burj Khalifa fireworks on New Year’s Eve.

Burj Al Arab

The Burj Al Arab, a luxury hotel in the shape of a sail, is also a popular spot for watching fireworks on New Year’s Eve. The fireworks display takes place around the base of the hotel and can be viewed from various locations in the area.

Visitors can watch the fireworks from the Kite Beach in Jumeirah, it will be busy on the eve so it’s recommended to get off on the back streets in Jumeirah and walk to the beach. 

Located off Beach Road in Al Sufouh, Black Palace Beach offers spectacular views of the fireworks that will take place midway between the Palm Jumeirah and the Burj Al Arab on NYE.

Alternatively, you can head to Umm Suqeim Park that is located just behind  Burj Al Arab, which is a lovely spot watch the fireworks in Dubai, particularly for children.

Palm Jumeirah

Visitors can watch the dazzling fireworks from The Pointe facing Atlantis, The Palm.

The pristine purpose-built Palm Jumeirah walkway, that spans more than 11 kilometres,  is also an excellent place to catch a beautiful display of fireworks. Avoid Palm traffic and possible road closures by choosing The Palm Monorail to take you to and from the Boardwalk. 

Club Vista Mare on Palm Jumeirah is hosting their own New Year’s Eve fireworks display on New Year’s Eve. Also the new beach clubs and restaurants of Palm West Beach will be a great place to watch the New Year’s Eve fireworks in Dubai for 2023.

Al Seef

Dubai’s heritage district, Al Seef, located Dubai Creek has fireworks every year. Enjoy fireworks display at 11.59pm on December 31 for a duration of three minutes.

Visitors can also take advantage of the various waterfront restaurants in the district, such as Skafos and ILA.

The venue is also planning a fireworks show on New Year’s Day. Head there on January 1, to catch the three-minute-long display that starts at 8.30pm.

Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR)

Located in Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Beach Residence is a convenient destination to see vibrant fireworks displays in Dubai.

Visitors can watch the fireworks by heading to The Beach, which is a hotspot for firework displays. The Bluewaters Island fireworks will coincide with those at The Beach, JBR. at 11:59pm. The display will last for three minutes.

You can also see the show from across the water aboard a marine taxi, which can be taken from the Marina Mall Station.

Residents will be also dazzled by night with the sparkles and glitters of a huge organized display at The Beach Opposite JBR and Bluewaters, where visitors and residents can also look forward to the DSF Drones Light Show.

The free-to-watch shows involve a swarm of 500 drones soaring hundreds of meters above ground, entertaining crowds with spectacular lights and displaying dazzling patterns and messages in the night-sky.

Global Village

Residents can also ring in the New Year seven times this New Year’s Eve, if they are planning to head to Global Village on December 31 as the New Year is marked in different time zones.

Fireworks will commence at 8:00 pm to mark New Year in the Philippines, 9:00 pm, to mark New Year in Thailand, 10:00 pm to mark New Year in Bangladesh, 10.30pm to mark New Year in India, 11:00 pm to mark New Year in Pakistan, 12:00 am to mark New Year in the UAE and 1am to mark New Year in Turkey.

The main midnight fireworks display, meanwhile, will last for five minutes — making for a total of 11 minutes of fireworks at Global Village, which will be open from 4pm to 2am on December 31.

Dubai Festival City Mall

The fireworks at Festival Bay in the Dubai Festival City Mall is a must-watch. Spectators will be wowed by the IMAGINE water and laser show and a glittering five-minute firework show to bring in 2023. It will be one of the longest fireworks displays this year, firing up Festival Bay at midnight for a duration of five minutes.

Elsewhere in Dubai

You can also watch New Year’s Eve fireworks in Dubai from Town Square Dubai, Dubai Frame, and Bluewaters Island, where the world’s tallest observation wheel, Ain Dubai is likely to be centre of attention.

Bluewaters Island will kick-start its three-minute-long fireworks show at 11.59pm.
