Free shuttle bus service
The renowned international airlines, Emirates and Etihad, offer free shuttle buses between Dubai Airport and Abu Dhabi Airport for passengers with valid tickets for either airline. All you need to do is book a flight with either of these airlines, departing from or arriving at the Dubai or Abu Dhabi Airport.
People living in Abu Dhabi who book flights with Emirates can avail a free bus ride to Dubai International Airport. Also, Dubai residents with Etihad flight tickets can take the free shuttle to Abu Dhabi.
Travelling with Etihad
Passengers from Dubai can take a coach run by Etihad for free to Abu Dhabi International Airport, and vice versa.
These Etihad buses depart from the parking area behind New Safestway Supermarket on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, near Al Wasl Centre, and transport their passengers directly to Abu Dhabi International Airport.
The buses take 75 minutes to complete the one-way trip, and all passengers should show a valid Etihad ticket.

Make sure you book your spot on the Etihad Coach at least 24 hours in advance.
If you haven’t booked in advance, you will be charged a service fee of AED 25 per person.

Travelling with Emirates
Passengers with a valid Emirates flight ticket, can take the free shuttle bus service by Emirates.
Anyone planning to use the free shuttle service by Emirates must book a seat at least 48 hours in advance.
The shuttle bus from Abu Dhabi picks up passengers at the front of the Emirates Down Town office – Khalidiya on Corniche Road, at 03:00, 09:45, 16:30 and 22:00. The bus drops the passengers at Terminal 3 arrivals at Dubai International Airport.
The trips from Dubai to Abu Dhabi leave at the same spot at 03:00, 10:00, 15:00 and 23:00.
As per the Emirates’ website, minimum connection time is 2 hours for inbound and outbound passengers. When buying a flight ticket through an Emirates office or travel agent, the passengers should request the agent to include the Abu Dhabi or Al Ain bus on your ticket before issuing your ticket.
