Sharjah is set for another round of eventful New Year’s Eve celebrations.

With stellar firework displays and exclusive entertainment shows, to a camping experience in the middle of the desert, the northern emirate has plenty of family-friendly activities to offer.

Here are the places to watch New Year’s Eve fireworks in Sharjah.

1. Al Majaz Waterfront

Sharjah Majaz Waterfront is a popular location for New Year’s Eve in the UAE.

Al Majaz Waterfront will have dazzling 8-minute fireworks lighting up the Khalid Lagoon’s skyscapes.  Celebrating the 10th anniversary, the waterfront will also feature a special flyboard show and musical shows from 7:45pm onwards.

The leisure destination is known for its diverse dining experiences (with prior booking recommended) and has been a favourite spot for families during New Year’s Eve attracting thousands of visitors over the past few years.

2. Al Noor Island

Home to popular spots such as The Sharjah House and The Literature Pavilion, the family hub Al Noor Island is set to be another hot spot for New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Al Noor Island will host a New Year’s Eve dining experience on December 31 from 9pm until midnight.

The ‘By the Bay’ dining at the destination offers guests a unique view of the fireworks displays in a peaceful atmosphere. 

Visitors can also explore the wonders of the island in addition to enjoying a delicious dinner by the shoreline with cityscape views. The site also provide a great vantage point from which to see Al Majaz Waterfront’s fireworks display.

Tickets, including the dinner, are priced at Dh340 for adults and Dh150 for kids.

3. Khorfakkan Beach

With the fireworks extravaganza coming to the east coast, Khorfakkan beach celebrates New Year’s Eve with a countdown, filling the sky with mesmerising colors, and offering sparkling entertainment from LED, fire to bubble shows from 7.45pm onwards for kids and families.

There are a variety of cafes and restaurants located at the stunning beachfront destination, form where visitors can enjoy a scrumptious dinner from a variety of cuisines and watch the dazzling fireworks.

4. Mleiha Archaeological centre

Ring in the New Year 2023 by camping under the stars at this amazing desert village.

New Year’s Eve at Mleiha will feature live shows including the traditional Tanoura Dance, Fire Dance, and Oud performance.

Visitors can also explore the stars and planets with the assistance of experienced guides at the stargazing booth arranged at the campsite.

Guests will enjoy a delicious buffet dinner and shows before spending the night in specially set up camps with bonfires in the magical deserts of Mleiha. The experience will begin at 6.30pm on December 31 with a free self-guided museum tour and will end by 8am on the following morning with breakfast.

Tickets cost Dh875 for adults and Dh650 for children, on a non-exclusive basis. It is also possible to book exclusive lounges (with a minimum of 10 people). The exclusive lounge costs Dh950 per adult and Dh650 per child.
