As we approach the year’s end, many of us may be considering a trip abroad or some much-needed family time. To make your plans, it’s important to be aware of the upcoming UAE public holiday in 2023.

According to the official holiday list, the next break is for UAE National Day on December 2 and 3. These holidays fall on a Saturday and Sunday, which is already part of the weekend for most employees.

Commemoration Day and UAE National Day 2023

The UAE Commemoration Day, previously known as Martyrs’ Day, is observed on December 1 each year. In 2023, it falls on a Friday. Although it’s not officially listed in the 2023 holiday calendar, the UAE has historically granted a holiday for employees in both sectors to mark this important occasion.

The exact number of holidays will be determined by official announcements from the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE). While there is much anticipation for the possibility of a long weekend, residents will need to wait patiently for these official announcements before making any plans.
