Multiple-entry tourist visa for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022

It is no secret that many football fans will be making travel plans in preparation for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which begins on November 20, 2022. Many of them are preferring to stay in Dubai and travel to Qatar  to watch the games since it is just 30 minutes away by plane.

The UAE announced multiple-entry tourist visa for Hayya card holders attending the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, back in August. Starting from today, the UAE will start accepting applications for multiple-entry tourist visas from fans attending the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The visa will be issued to holders of the ‘Hayya’ card, which is a mandatory personalized document that serve as an entry permit to Qatar, the host country, during the tournament period from November 20 to December 18.

The announcement was initialy made on Tuesday, August 30th.

The programme is part of the UAE’s initiatives to support Qatar in hosting the FIFA World Cup 2022, reported the state news agency, WAM. Through the special visa, the UAE will be hosting world cup fans, allowing them to enter the emirates multiple times over a period of 90 days.

According to the Federal Authority For Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) , the visa charged has been reduced to a one-time pay of Dh100 that is valid for a period of 90 days. It can be extended for another 90 days, with regular fees applied.

Hayya card holders can apply for the UAE multiple-entry tourist visa from November 1.

How to apply

International fans holding the Hayya card can apply for the visa on the ICP website. 

To apply for multiple-entry tourist visa

1. Go to the website of the Federal Authority For Identity and Citizenship www.icp.gov.ae 

2. Choose the “Smart channels” link.

3. Select  “Public Services” from the main menu.

4. Click on “Hayya Card Holders Visa” from Public Services to get the form

5. Fill out the application form.

Travelers from visa-exempt countries can travel to and stay in the UAE according to current regulation.

Saudi Arabia visa for ‘Hayya’ card holders

On August 25, Saudi Arabia announced it will grant visa to enter the country for Hayya card holders, ten days before the start of the tournament, allowing them to stay for 60 days.

The visa will allow them to exit and re-enter the country during the World Cup season from November 1 to January 23 next year. Anyone applying for a visa must also obtain medical insurance before traveling to Saudi Arabia.
