UAE National Day 2022: Celebrations, Fireworks and other events

National holidays in the UAE begin on Thursday, December 1 and continue until Sunday, December 4, 2022.

UAE National Day is celebrated on 2 December, and it’s a four day long weekend for the UAE residents. It’s high time to start thinking about how to make the most of the days off work.

This year will mark UAE’s 51st National Day. National holidays in the UAE begin on Thursday, December 1 and continue until Sunday, December 4, 2022. Here are some of the events happening in each emirate that you can look forward to:

Dubai

Global Village

There will be four days of fun at Global Village from Wednesday, November 30 to Saturday, December 3.

Dubai Festival City Fireworks

There will be two fireworks held at Dubai Festival City to celebrate UAE National Day. The fireworks show timings will be at 8 pm and 10 pm on Thursday 2nd December, along with light and laser show, and traditional Ayala dance performances.

Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) Fireworks

One of the best spot to watch fireworks in Dubai would be the Jumeirah Beach Residence. This year the timing will be on Wednesday, December 1, and Thursday, December 2 at 8 pm.

La Mer Dubai Beach Fireworks

Fireworks at La Mer Dubai will be at 9 pm on December 1 Wednesday and December 2 Thursday.

Additionally, two famous Arab stars’ Fouad Mohamed Al Shehhi and Abdul Wahed will perform live at La Mer on the same day.

Dubai Creek Fireworks, Al Seef

On Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3, head to Al Seef as early as possible to catch the fireworks, which will begin at 8:30PM near Dubai Creek. 

Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi Air Show

Abu Dhabi air show will take place on Thursday, December 2nd, from 4PM to 5PM. The air force’s Mirage 2000 and F-16 jets will make a special appearance at the Air Show. It is free entry for everyone.

Zayed Sports City Stadium, Abu Dhabi

 Zayed Sports City Stadium, Abu Dhabi will host celebrations on December 2. A mega show Named This is Zayed, This is UAE, will be included in these events. According to the organizers, nearly 22,000 people will attend to watch and experience digital arts and live performances by various artists.

Abu Dhabi fireworks

UAE national day fireworks will be held at Zayed Heritage Festival, Madinat Zayed, Hazza bin Zayed Stadium at 9PM in Abu Dhabi.

Sharjah

Sharjah will host events in various locations from November 24 to December 3.

The events will be held on Flag Island, Al Majaz Amphitheatre, Sharjah National Park, Maliha Public Park, Al Hisn Island and Al Kharous in Dibba Al Hisn, Khorfakkan Amphitheater, Wadi Al Helo and various areas of Kalba, parks and residential areas in Al Bataeh, various areas of Al Madam, Al Dhaid Fort, and the Heritage Village in Al Hamriyah.

Sharjah National Park

An opening ceremony will be held at Sharjah National Park, that includes a musical performance named as ‘Sultan of Giving’ about the achievements of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

Also a performance called ‘New Era’ will be held and other daily activities from 4.30pm-10pm on November 29 – December 3.

Snow village, snow sculpting of national landmarks, and a model of Sharjah landmarks are among the other attractions.

Al Majaz Amphitheater and Khorfakkan Amphitheater

Al Majaz Amphitheater will host musical performances featuring Balqees and Latifa on November 26, while Khorfakkan Amphitheater will host Eida Al Menhali and Diana Haddad on December 3. 

Al Dhaid City

Al Dhaid City celebrations are held at Al Dhaid Fort from Thursday, December 1 to Saturday, December . There will be national march, camel racing, traditional performances, and other cultural events.

Morning activities run from 8am to 11am on the first day, while evening activities extend over the three days from 4pm to 10pm.

Kalba and Wadi Al Helo

Kalba Corniche will also host a variety of shows and activities on November 28.

Wadi Al Helo celebrations will take place on November 30, including a national march, musical performances at Kalba, an operetta, and Al Fursan air show, and sports events and competitions sponsored by Sharjah Marine Sports Club. 

Wadi Al Helo celebrations will take place at the Heritage Village from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  The ceremony will include school performances in coordination with the Department of Culture and Information, and a segment entitled ‘Between the Past and the Present’ in coordination with the Theater Department, in addition to performances by folk groups (Yowlah), folk dances in coordination with schools, and the distribution of gifts and prizes.

KhorFakkan

A musical evening will be held at KhorFakkan Amphitheater on December 3 featuring Eida Al Menhali and Diana Haddad. The celebrations in KhorFakkan will also include a national operetta, and poetic and artistic performances. Bands from Oman, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait will participate in UAE celebrations, demonstrating the strong ties between the people of Gulf states.

On December 2, traditional shows and a classical car show will be held in Souq Sharq.

Al Hamriyah

On December 1, the banks of the Hamriyah Creek and the Heritage Village in Hamriyah will host special celebrations, including national songs by students of Al Qalaa School for Basic and Secondary Education, traditional songs by folk groups, and the ’51st National Day Celebration’ video presentation.
