UAE: New paid parking zones in Khor Fakkan, effective Aug 15

Subscriptions are free for senior citizens.

New paid parking zones are being introduced in Khor Fakkan, Sharjah.

The Khorfakkan Municipality announced on Thursday, August 4th, that the paid parking system in Khorfakkan would be effective as of August 15, 2022.

Khor Fakkan free parking for senior Sharjah citizens

The authority also highlighted that Sharjah citizens of 60 years or above will be able to use the parking spaces free of charge.

In order to avail this facility, the Municipality have asked the senior citizens to submit the following documents:

1. Emirates ID

2. Proof of ownership of the car

3. Registration summary

The documents may be submitted either online via the Khor Fakkan Municipality website www.khormun.gov.ae or in person at the headquarters in the Al Mudifi area in Khor Fakkan.

UAE’s Revised Parking Rules

On holidays, parking will be free of charge. Parking in multi-story buildings is not permissible for free; daily fees are required.

Parking in Dubai will be a paid service for 14 hours daily from 8am to 10pm daily, except Sundays and public holidays. This means that parking would be free on Sundays.

Vehicles can be parked for a maximum of four consecutive hours in roadside parking slots; 24 hours in parking lots; and 30 days in multi-storey facilities.

Parking fees can be paid by:

  • official currency coins
  • credit card
  • text message
  • UAE Government transportation apps
  • prepaid/rechargeable parking card
  • seasonal parking card
  • Nol card.
